The United States Postal Service is reporting a new email scam circulating. The fake email tells consumers that they have a package waiting at the post office and claims that the consumers owe charges related to the package.
The email includes a link that contains malware that could steal personal information from your computer. The USPS said that if you get such an email, delete it immediately and do not click any links.

BBB reminds consumers to never respond to suspicious emails, especially ones asking for personal information, like your Social Security Number, bank account information or credit card numbers. Never click any provided links, and instead go "off the call (or email)" to find contact information on your own and contact the business or government entity directly to confirm any information.
This is also a good time to ensure your antivirus software is up-to-date and to run a virus scan on your computer.
