The BBB has received several calls from Qwest customers concerned they are being targeted by a scam. Representatives using Qwests’ name are randomly calling customers asking to verify the business or consumer's information. The caller begins by stating that there has been a billing error and they want to refund the customer's money. In order to do so they require the customer’s bank account information for the funds to be directly deposited into the customer's bank account.
Qwest does not contact customers by phone requesting bank account information for refunds. The BBB warns consumers and businesses to beware of this type of call asking for personal and financial information.
